This season, the Harrisburg Dance Team is working to maintain positivity, uphold good technique, and improve their routines. Already, they have had three competitions and were very successful. For example, in Aberdeen, they placed second overall, which is impressive in all aspects. Moving further into their season, the group placed fourth in Watertown and Yankton. Recently, the team earned 2nd in Jazz, 1st in Hip Hop, and 2nd overall at their Huron competition. Senior athlete Maddie Goldammer says she wants to improve and advance her individual skills to continue contributing to the team. With this, Maddie tries to keep a positive and open mind. Phoebe Brown, another senior teammate, states that one of her main goals is making the most of her last high school season. To do this, she says she wants to focus on making memories, having fun, and forming lasting relationships with her teammates. As a team, they have one goal: place at least third in the state championship.

Maddie and Phoebe continuously work hard on routines and their skills, but there is always still room for improvement. As an individual, Phoebe wants to improve her skills entirely, including her jumps, turns, leaps, and flexibility. On the other hand, Maddie wants to focus on only her turns to become less stressed on stage. Skills like these require dedication and time, and these girls are willing to put forth whatever it takes. These ladies have both the confidence and drive to get to where they want to be this season; there is no doubt that if they work hard, they will get no lower than third at state.
