Horizon learners participated in a Read-a-thon that included a teacher “cake” eating contest to kick it off, dress up days that included dress like favorite your favorite book character and dress in favorite decade or like a 125 year old, coloring a hand for our hallway tree, and 4th & 5thgraders made posters for a timeline using PIC Collage app of an event that has happened within the last 125 years. Top readers (most minutes) and top donation getters from each grade were recognized with a pizza party. Multiple prizes were given to learners who had their names drawn after earning tickets for meeting their reading goal. Over $2,000 was raised to go for books toward our book room.
