It's the first day of Arts in Education Week! We'd like to thank all the Fine Arts staff who give our students opportunities to be creative and express themselves along with our general ed teachers who incorporate the arts into their daily lessons. 🎭🖼🎵❤️ #ArtEdWeek

Meeting of the Minds in First Grade! First Grade gathers together once a month for a team meeting. Today they focused on the Habit of Mind-Responding with Wonderment and Awe! Learners were encouraged to ask questions, be curious and appreciate how things work!

He got caught stealing reading time today!! Did you know reading helps learners develop their imagination! By reading, you are painting pictures of the story in your mind. Books can take you anywhere you want to go! Reading exposes you to so many wonderful things!

This learner is new to Freedom and he is rocking his testing! Mrs. Ramstad said he is a hard worker, always listening and following directions. He is a great addition to our school!!! #goodnewscall

Freedom is encouraging learners to “steal reading time” throughout their day. We want learners to take every opportunity to sneak in reading time! We are also encouraging 20 minutes of reading each night at home! Look who got caught sneaking reading time today!

Freedom Families- We will be following indoor arrival procedures this morning due to rain. Please drop off your learners at the front door, they will line up inside. Look for the plastic green child sign to indicate inside recess before school due to rain or cold.

It's almost that time. Please be aware of students on your morning commute. 🚌🐯🚸 ⚠️ If you're driving behind a bus, allow a greater following distance than if you were driving behind a car. It will give you more time to stop once the yellow lights start flashing. It is illegal in all 50 states to pass a school bus that is stopped to load or unload children. ⚠️ Never pass a bus from behind – or from either direction if you're on an undivided road – if it is stopped to load or unload children ⚠️ If the yellow or red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended, traffic must stop ⚠️ The area 10 feet around a school bus is the most dangerous for children; stop far enough back to allow them space to safely enter and exit the bus ⚠️ Be alert; children often are unpredictable, and they tend to ignore hazards and take risks.

Parents and Families—this year’s main fundraiser is the Freedom Fun Run! It’s a two-week program that kicks off with a Pep Rally on September 16th. Families will then gather pledges for every lap your student runs (30-35 laps) at the Freedom Fun Run, which will happen on September 27th. This year our goal is to raise $20,000 for playground enhancements and funding field trips, and we need your help! ⚠️You should have received an email from your learner's school regarding your their teacher for next year. If you did not, please check your junk/clutter boxes. Otherwise, contact your school's administrative assistant. You will need the link contained in the email to sign up for a 15-minute time slot with your teacher on August 15th. 📥🐯
