This learner took on extra responsibility during the fire drill to assist a teacher and learner who lost her shoes. Mrs. Reiland spotted him and nominated him for #TheGoodNewsCallOfTheDay @pringarrett


Mr. Eriksen nominated this learner for #TheGoodNewsCallOfTheDay. After lunch was over, she took it upon herself to ask the lunch ladies for something to help her clean up a milk spill from another student. We appreciate her keeping the lunchroom safe and clean! @pringarrett


These 5th grade girls have taken on a leadership role in the school. They help assist JK learners in the am/pm from/to the bus. They wrote a journal entry and interviewed for the position. They were on time and ready for the job today! #GoodNewsCallOfTheDay

Horizon Elementary welcomed 14 new teachers to the staff, reconnected with former staff, attended the district inservice & ended the week with surprise supplies for all classrooms from Crosswalk Community Church. Bring on the students- we are ready! #Gratitude #CommunityPartners



We are grateful to have a partnership with Crosswalk Community Church. They helped welcome 70 + Horizon staff members back to school for Inservice Day by providing breakfast. It was a great opportunity to get to know our 20 + new staff members. Thank you Pastor Savannah & Team!

The Harrisburg School District has determined that the personally identifiable Special Education documents that had been collected, maintained, or used for providing educational services for students that have graduated, left district or are no longer receiving services prior to 2018 will be destroyed on September 10, 2023.
The following applicable Special Education records or documents will be destroyed:
Psychological Evaluation, Educational Assessments, Occupational Therapy, Assessments, Speech/Hearing/Language Assessments, Physical Therapy Assessments, Preschool Assessments, Medical Information, Prior Notices,
Multidisciplinary Team Reports, Classroom Observation Reports, Referral Forms Classroom Teacher Reports, Behavioral Assessments, Agency Progress Reports
Individualized Education Plans
If you would like to receive any of the above-mentioned items please call the Special Education Director’s office – 743-9028 prior September 10, 2023, to arrange a convenient time to obtain them. IF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT DOES NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE THE ITEMS WILL BE DESTROYED.
